According to TASS, the anti-government protest action is taking place on Saturday at the site of commemorative events on the occasion of the 11th anniversary of the crash near Smolensk of the Polish government airliner Tu-154M.
“Several dozen people staged a demonstration in the park near Jozef Pilsudski Square, where a monument to the dead was erected and officials lay flowers and light candles. Reinforced police detachments did not allow them to approach the monument directly, the message says. Participants of the action with posters criticizing the authorities are shouting anti-government slogans. They are also outraged by the inability to come closer to the place of laying flowers and holding commemorative events. Explosions of firecrackers are heard, flares are lit”.
Pilsudski Square is surrounded by metal fences around the entire perimeter. Police officers in helmets, protective vests and shields are on duty around.
