Discussions about possible interference in the US presidential election process regularly arise in connection with statements by the US authorities about Russia’s involvement in such actions.
In an interview with FOX News, Christopher Krebs, head of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Cyber Security and Infrastructure Agency, said that “no country in the world can influence the country’s presidential election”.
According to Krebs, the Agency for Cyber Security and Infrastructure of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has learned how to deal with threats in cyberspace in 27 hours.
“Our agency tracks approximately 95% of the votes already cast in the 2020 elections. This allows election commissions to accurately count all the ballots,” he said.
Let’s remind that among the sanctions introduced by the USA against Russia, there were restrictive measures concerning intervention in elections and actions in cyber sphere.
Moscow has repeatedly rejected such accusations in its address. As Dmitry Peskov, a spokesman for the Russian President, assures us, “such allegations have nothing to do with the truth”.
