NATO is developing a secret plan for preparing for the new wave of Soviet-19

According to the German publication, the ambassadors of NATO countries held a closed meeting last week with Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, at which it was decided to immediately begin preparing an action plan.

The alliance wants to be better prepared for a new outbreak of the virus, and to be able to provide more effective support to the affected NATO partners.

An operation plan should be developed under the auspices of US General Todd Walters. NATO diplomats say the plan could be adopted at a meeting of defense ministers in June.

The publication notes that at a secret meeting, Stoltenberg said that a more coordinated response to the second wave of coronavirus will become a litmus test for trust and cohesion in the alliance.

According to reports, the Secretary General also proposed general procurement of personal protective equipment and medicines through NATO’s own support and procurement agency.
