US Congress intends to approve the draft defense budget including sanctions against Nord Stream-2 until December 20

Sanctions will affect the companies involved in construction of the gas pipeline, as well as top managers of these companies, who may lose the opportunity to obtain an American visa and face blocking transactions related to their real estate or assets in the United States.

The NDAA sanctions clause is formulated on the basis of a bill introduced by Senators Ted Cruz and Joan Shahin earlier this year.

Sanctions are designed to stop the construction of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline, Cruise’s assistant told the agency.

Last week, Cruz once again spoke out about the need to impose sanctions on the project, which, according to him, “will bring billions of dollars to Russia, which it can use to finance military aggression against America and against Europe”.
