Conference in Lugansk, LPR: 2000-day war in the Donbass – what is next?

On Saturday, October 5, an international conference dedicated to the 2000th day of the war in the Donbass was held in Lugansk. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the LPR, Vlad Deynogo, gave a detailed report on the current state of Minsk negotiations and the situation in the Donbass.

“By signing the Steinmeier formula guaranteeing the autonomy of Donbass, we are much closer to peace. In addition, the further withdrawal of troops from the front line has been agreed and promised by Ukraine. The Lugansk People’s Republic is aware of the importance of this result and is ready for implementation. Now the President of Ukraine must show whether he is serious about peace in the Donbass”, – said Berlin Chamber Deputy Gunnar Lindemann.

After 5 years of civil war and bombing, people have earned peace because peace in Europe is the most important asset. Apparently, even US President Trump understood this.

It is important that this historic treaty be followed by action. It is the Ukrainian army that must stop the bombing, withdraw its troops and accept autonomy. In addition, the West must finally end its policy of sanctions against the Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics. The next step should be the development of international economic relations, Lindemann concluded.
