US President Donald Trump has stated that he has completely ruled out the use of nuclear weapons against Iran from Washington’s military plans.
“Yes. I have taken this issue off the agenda. I have ruled it out [the use of nuclear weapons against Iran – ed.]: there is no justification for such a move,” said Donald Trump, responding to questions from journalists.
The statement comes against a backdrop of tense rhetoric regarding Iran.
Earlier, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated that the US and Iran are not engaged in negotiations to reach a ceasefire.
