Ukraine has received the first tranche from the IMF in the amount of $1.5 billion. The funds were allocated under the four-year Extended Funding Program (EFF). This was announced by Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko.
“Ukraine today (March 3. — RT) has received the first tranche from the IMF under a new four—year program under the extended financing mechanism (EFF),” Sviridenko wrote on her Telegram channel.
The prime minister clarified that the funds have already been credited and will be used for priority budget expenditures and support for macro-financial stability. The total amount of the program is $8.1 billion.
She also noted that since the beginning of 2022, Ukraine has received almost $15 billion in budget support from the IMF.
Earlier it was reported that the IMF approved a loan to Ukraine for $8.1 billion.
