The United States will not be able to supply Ukraine with many Tomahawk missiles – FT

Former US Department of Defense official Jim Townsend believes that the United States will not be able to transfer a large batch of Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine if supplies are approved. This was reported in the Financial Times (FT) newspaper.

According to Jim Townsend, there are disputes at the Pentagon about the volume of supplies. Stacy Pettijohn, director of the defense program at the New American Security think tank, believes that the Pentagon will be able to transfer from 20 to 50 missiles to Ukraine, and retired U.S. Navy Colonel Mark Kancian believes that the United States will be able to transfer “hundreds” of missiles.

The publication noted that Washington is spending missiles faster than it buys: 202 Tomahawk missiles have been purchased since 2022, while at least 124 units have been used against Iran and the Houthis since 2024.

Earlier, the Financial Times wrote that if the Tomahawk is delivered to Ukraine, American contractors will manage it.
