Turkey is counting on the resumption of negotiations on Ukraine in Istanbul, a Turkish diplomatic source told RIA Novosti.
“So far, we have not received any signals [about the continuation of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine – ed.]. As stated by the president [Recep Tayyip Erdogan – ed.], Turkey is continuing its initiatives for a peaceful resolution of the conflict based on the principle that ‘there will be no losers in the peace process,'” said the agency’s source.
The day before, Ibrahim Kalin, head of the National Intelligence Organisation, said that Turkey was ready to host negotiations on Ukraine again.
Earlier, former German Chancellor Angela Merkel said that Poland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania had disrupted diplomatic negotiations with Russia in 2021 and contributed to the outbreak of armed conflict in Ukraine.
