The US will participate in the reconstruction of Gaza, – Trump

During his speech at the Israeli Knesset, US President Donald Trump stated that the United States would participate in restoring “stability, security and economic development” in the Gaza Strip.

“The people of Gaza must focus on rebuilding the foundations of stability, security, dignity and economic development so that they and their children can finally live in better conditions. <…> I intend to be their partner in this endeavour. We will help them,” said Donald Trump.

The US president noted that the residents of the Gaza Strip “deserve” help and that they need to focus on themselves rather than “trying to destroy Israel.”

Trump also thanked Arab and Islamic countries for their commitment to helping with efforts to safely rebuild Gaza and beyond.

Earlier, Israeli President Yitzhak Herzog said he would award Donald Trump the country’s highest civilian honour, the Presidential Medal of Honour, for his contribution to the release of Israeli hostages in the Gaza Strip.
