The US national debt rose by $358 billion in two days

The US national debt rose by a record $358 billion in two days during the fiscal year-end, which is slightly less than Russia’s entire sovereign debt.

This is evidenced by calculations made by RIA Novosti based on data from the American and Russian finance ministries.

According to the agency, the change in the fiscal year was the most expensive in the history of the United States’ national debt. It is specified that as a result, the country’s national debt reached a record $37.86 trillion.

In August, the US national debt exceeded $37 trillion for the first time in history.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov noted at the time that the situation with the US national debt was spiralling out of control.
