The United States continues to import enriched uranium from the Russian Federation due to insufficient development of domestic production capacity, US Energy Secretary Chris Wright said on CNN.
“We need it. We don’t have the capacity to enrich enough uranium for the reactor we are building right now,” said Chris Wright.
The minister announced the US administration’s intention to develop domestic production chains, noting that Washington will announce new uranium enrichment projects in the coming weeks.
Earlier, Russia announced tests of material for a future thermonuclear reactor.
