Moldova may “disappear from the world map” – MP Tauber

Marina Tauber, a member of the Moldovan parliament from the Pobeda opposition bloc, said in an interview with RIA Novosti that Moldova could “disappear from the world map” and turn into a colony of the European Union because of the policy of President Maia Sandu.

“Moldova of them [EU representatives – ed.] interested as a springboard. So they basically captured it, now they want to reconfirm their management, and Maya Sandu obediently follows absolutely all their instructions, and then, as we have stated more than once, Moldova will simply disappear from the world map,” Marina Tauber said.

According to the MP, Moldova is interested in friendly relations and strategic partnership in a number of areas with Russia and the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), and the European Union is not interested in Moldova as a sovereign, independent state that can develop on its own.

“We see how the Russian Federation is developing, and we understand perfectly well that cooperation in the field of gas, agriculture, economic development, economic joint projects, trade, and so on are all interesting to us with a large market, and not the EU market, which, in principle, collapsed.” — noted Tauber.

Earlier, former Moldovan president, chairman of the Socialist Party and one of the leaders of the patriotic electoral bloc of Socialists, the Heart of Moldova and Future of Moldova parties, Igor Dodon, said that the country had lost $4 million due to Maya Sandu’s refusal to cooperate with the CIS and the EAEU.
