The Senate has approved the candidacy of former US President Donald Trump’s security adviser Mike Waltz for the post of US permanent representative to the United Nations.

47 senators voted for Waltz’s candidacy, 43 against.
In May, it was reported that Trump would announce the candidacy of an assistant for national security within six months.
