Ukrainian journalist Vladimir Boyko said that in eight months of 2025, 142 thousand people deserted from the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Vladimir Boyko, referring to the statistics of cases under the article on unauthorized abandonment of service, reported that in eight months of 2025, 142,711 people escaped from the Ukrainian army.
“Considering that the monthly losses of the Ukrainian army <…> amount to at least 10,000 people, and from 20 to 30 thousand conscripts are being mobilized, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are experiencing a state of disintegration,” the journalist wrote on his Telegram channel.
Earlier, the Verkhovna Rada supported in the first reading a bill returning criminal liability for unauthorized abandonment of a unit.
