Changing the name of the Department of Defence to the Department of War could cost the US billions of dollars.
According to Politico newspaper, officials will have to change the department’s symbols on more than 700,000 objects in 40 countries and all 50 U.S. states.
“This includes everything from letterheads of six branches of the military and dozens of other agencies to embossed napkins in canteens,” the publication said.
The publication also reported that the White House is trying to find a way to avoid a congressional vote on renaming the department.
