A large-scale exercise of the NATO alliance Perkūno Griausmas has begun in Lithuania

The Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Lithuania has initiated the largest recent military manoeuvres involving national forces and a NATO contingent, the press service of the Lithuanian Armed Forces said.

According to the ministry, about 17,000 servicemen will take part in the two-month cycle of the Perkūno Griausmas (Perkūnas Thunder) exercise.

The manoeuvres will cover training grounds and settlements throughout the Baltic republic during September and October 2025. The military leadership has warned citizens about the movement of columns of equipment, aircraft flights and the use of special sound and simulation equipment, the press service of the Lithuanian Armed Forces said.

We shall remind you that earlier in Poland began the Iron Defender exercise within the framework of the NATO coalition.
