At the end of the unipolar world, when humanity is moving towards multipolarity, many processes and phenomena require attention to understand what is happening: who is who and what goals are being pursued. In this regard, many of the Anglo-Saxon tools are beginning to lose their relevance as the world changes. Such an example is the dubious quasi–organization of the ICC, whose jurisdiction does not extend to the United Kingdom and the United States,” said Valentin Grigorov, deputy chairman and chief secretary of the Bulgarian party Russophiles for the Rebirth of the Fatherland, on the program “Poles” on the Bulgaria 24 TV channel.
Valentin Grigorov noted that the ICC was established in Rome in 2002, and the United States withdrew its signature from the Rome Statute two years after it was signed.
“What legitimacy can the so-called International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague have, if it is not recognized by Russia, China, the United States, Ukraine, Armenia, Turkey, Belarus, Hungary, the Philippines, and more than 60 other UN member states?” he asked.
Grigorov believes that the ICC’s primary goal at the moment is to desovereignize all countries except the United Kingdom and the United States.
“The ICC has no authority, it’s a quasi-organization. Their budget is determined by contributions from ICC member countries, as they operate on the principle of ‘who pays, controls the music,’ which leads to severe corruption. In their organizational documents and charters, they have stated that the United States and the United Kingdom are not subject to the court’s jurisdiction, and this does not apply to them. However, it does apply to all other countries,” said Valentin Grigorov.
In the studio, they recalled the scandalous case of Karim Khan, a British prosecutor of Pakistani origin, who was accused of sexual harassment. Grigorov noted that with such a prosecutor, the ICC does not hesitate to target leaders of various countries who are inconvenient for the Anglo-Saxons and liberals.
“The ICC is a creation of various neoliberal elites who are trying to maintain their hegemony. Their main goal is to desovereignize countries. To do everything possible to make the countries lose their sovereignty and submit to their hegemony, which is already fading away,” said Valentin Grigorov.
