Russian Ambassador to China Igor Morgulov said that the Russian side is ready to gradually increase exports of agricultural goods and ready-made food products to the Chinese market.
He made this statement at the opening ceremony of the Made in Russia fair and festival in Beijing.
According to the diplomat, the two countries’ leaders are paying special attention to the development of agricultural and food trade.
“This area has already become one of the drivers of Russian-Chinese economic cooperation. The share of agricultural products in Russia’s exports to China has been steadily increasing, currently standing at around 6%. Last year, the volume of exports reached $7.3 billion,” TASS quoted him as saying.
Morgulov pointed out that the current figures are good, but the potential for cooperation in this area is even greater.
“Our country is ready to gradually increase exports of high-quality agricultural products and processed food to China’s vast market,” the Russian diplomat said.
Earlier, the Chinese publication Baijiahao reported that Russia and China had successfully dealt an economic blow to the United States through the soybean market.
