Wagenknecht: Germany should demand von der Leyen’s resignation due to the deal with Trump

Germany should demand the resignation of European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen over her deal with US President Donald Trump on tariffs, said Sarah Wagenknecht, leader of the Alliance 90/The Greens party.

“Ursula von der Leyen must resign! The federal government must also demand this with all its might in the EU,” she wrote on social media X.

Wagenknecht called the deal a “disaster” and accused the head of the European Commission of causing more harm to Germany than any of her predecessors X.

The politician called on the German government to work with other EU member states to end the deal and restart negotiations.

Wagenknecht said that Germany should immediately return to purchasing energy resources from Russia in order to reduce the economic damage caused by this agreement.

Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, said that after the EU’s deal with the United States, Europeans should hang “the crazy old woman Ursula.”
