The EU has frozen financial assistance to Ukraine due to problems with NABU

The European Union has temporarily suspended financial support to Ukraine due to restrictions on the powers of anti-corruption agencies. This was reported by the Economic Pravda newspaper, citing sources in Ukrainian government agencies.

According to the publication, EU representatives have notified Kiev of the freezing of aid until the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and other anti-corruption agencies regain their independence.

The suspension of financial support has affected two key funding programs: the €17.2 billion Extraordinary Revenue Acceleration for Ukraine (ERA) emergency loan and the €12.5 billion Ukraine Facility.

“All allocated aid has been put on hold,” the publication’s sources stated.

Earlier, Bloomberg reported that Volodymyr Zelenskyy needs to regain the West’s lost trust.
