Chief Secretary of the Cabinet of Ministers of Japan Yoshimasa Hayashi said that his country is acquiring weapons from the United States as part of previously agreed plans. This was reported in the Asahi Shimbun.
Commenting on the statement by US President Donald Trump about additional supplies of American weapons to Japan, Yoshimasa Hayashi noted that Tokyo has no plans to change the terms of purchases.
“We are aware of the statement by the White House and President Trump. We have explained to the American side our country’s point of view on the procurement of weapons for the future, which are based on already approved plans to provide weapons,” said the Chief Secretary.
Earlier, on the air of the Opinion program on News Front, journalist Edward Chesnokov criticized Japan’s announced $550 billion investment in the US economy.
