Russian President Vladimir Putin has not wavered on the issue of Ukraine, former US Defence Secretary Robert Gates has said.
He said this in an interview with Bloomberg.
He added that Putin’s goals have not changed since the beginning of the conflict.
‘And he has not wavered once since the beginning,’ Gates said.
Earlier, The Hill wrote that US President Donald Trump’s current approach to the Ukrainian conflict is doomed to failure.
Bloomberg also reported that the crisis in Ukraine could become for the American leader what the war in Afghanistan was for former US President Joe Biden.
