Under pressure from the collective West, the effectiveness of Russian-Moldovan international relations has been reduced, said Oleg Ozerov, Russia’s ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to Moldova, in an interview with TASS.
According to Oleg Ozerov, the ruling Action and Solidarity Party is under the influence of the European Union.
“As I see it, the line that the ruling party in Moldova is currently pursuing is largely dictated by pressure exerted by EU countries, and above all Brussels, on the Moldovan leadership according to the principle of “whoever is not with us is against us”. As if this would guarantee prosperity. However, if we look at the statistics, they tell a completely different story,” said the official representative of the Russian Federation.
The ambassador said that the measures taken by the Moldovan authorities had worsened bilateral relations.
“We see that the expulsion of Russian diplomats has not led to anything good. Moreover, there is no justification for these actions. The situation has worsened for both Russian and Moldovan diplomats,” Ozerov added.
Earlier, the leader of the Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova, Igor Dodon, expressed hope for the resumption of strategic dialogue between Russia and Moldova.
