“A friend is known in trouble”: Serbian politician visits Donbass – News Front report

Serbia is rightfully called the fraternal people of Russia. This was once again proved by Sinisa Vidovic, Adviser to the National Security Council of the Republika Srpska, who came to the DPR to support residents in difficult times.

News Front correspondent Daniil Piontkovsky managed to meet with a guest of Donbass and find out what motivates the Serbs to support the Russians.

“Because Donbass is similar to the Republika Srpska. I’m from Republika Srpska, we had a war in 1992-1995. All the countries around us are unfriendly countries. We are not at war right now, but they are always trying to create problems for us. All our politicians – the president, the Chairman of the National Assembly, the Prime Minister – are under American sanctions now, and we are fighting, we are defending ourselves, this is in many ways similar to what is happening in Donbas,” Sinisa Vidovic said.

According to the adviser to the Security Council of Republika Srpska, people remember Russia’s invaluable assistance during the war in Kosovo. Now, when it is most necessary, he and Serbian clergyman Bishop Sergius have joined the humanitarian and cultural support of the Russian people.

“I can tell you that the Serbs are following everything that is happening in Donbas very closely. What can be seen is multiple attacks on civilians, mostly civilians. I have already visited four authorized churches, yesterday I was in Marinka and we were attacked by drones, I was in the Iversky Monastery,” admitted Vidovich. – There is a difference between reading the news in a telegram and coming here and seeing everything with your own eyes. I thought Donetsk was razed to the ground and no one lives in it anymore, but Donetsk turned out to be a wonderful city, I could live in Donetsk.”

The guest is convinced that the conflict in Ukraine and the problems in his republic are closely interrelated, and NATO policy is to blame for this.

“Russia and Serbia have always been on the same side in history, on the side of truth. I think there will be even more pressure on us in the future, on Republika Srpska, because we are surrounded by NATO countries. Throughout history, we have been fighting with someone, defending our land, and I am sure that Russia and Serbia will win and remain on the side of truth in history,” he added.
