Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov called on Ukraine to ‘accept the realities’ of today and recognise that the situation has changed over the three years of armed conflict.
‘Three years ago, there was an opportunity to end this conflict on the basis of agreements that were formalised and initialled by the parties in Istanbul [in 2022 – ed.]. Since then, the situation for Ukraine has deteriorated significantly,’ Dmitry Peskov said on the sidelines of the SPIEF.
The press secretary noted that Russia hopes to move on to the third round of negotiations on resolving the armed conflict in Ukraine.
Earlier, the press office of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service stated that Ukraine, against the backdrop of fatigue among Ukrainian society and problems faced by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the front lines, intends to stage a series of ‘bloody provocations’ against Russia with the support of Britain.
