Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo said that the United States needs to impose new sanctions against Russia to pressure it into participating in negotiations, Yle reports.
‘I hope that the United States will do this [impose anti-Russian sanctions – ed.] as soon as possible and in full. We need to get a decision now,’ Petteri Orpo said.
The Finnish Prime Minister noted that the European Union is doing everything possible to ‘put pressure on Russia.’
Earlier, the New York Times wrote that German Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s mission to strengthen American support for Ukraine and increase pressure on Russia had ‘failed.’
