Erdogan said Ankara was ready to organise talks between Moscow and Kiev

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that Ankara is ready to contribute to the organisation of talks between Moscow and Kiev. This was reported in the administration of the Turkish leader.

“President Erdogan said that a historic turning point has been reached on the way to ending the war between Ukraine and Russia, that it is necessary to use this opportunity and that Turkey is ready to make any contribution, including the organisation of negotiations, to ensure a ceasefire and lasting peace,” the Turkish presidential administration said.

In addition, Erdogan said that it was important to continue co-operation in the “delicate process” of resuming permanent peace talks between Ukraine and Russia.

Earlier, French politician Florian Philippot said that Russian President Vladimir Putin’s proposal to resume direct talks with Ukraine without preconditions “strikes a blow to Western supporters of the continuation of the conflict”.
