The United States authorities believe that assigning neutral status to the territories around the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant (ZNPP) with their subsequent transfer under Washington’s control would contribute to the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine.
This statement was quoted by the US newspaper The Wall Street Journal. At the same time, the publication did not specify who, in Washington’s opinion, should manage the plant if such a proposal is implemented.
Earlier, the chairman of the Russian Public Chamber’s commission on sovereignty issues, Vladimir Rogov, reacted to Kiev’s statement that it was ready to jointly control the nuclear power plant with the USA. He called it ‘nonsense’.
