Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Ukraine is trying to seize the initiative on a truce and talk about expanding the scope of targets, RIA Novosti reported.
“Now we see that the Kiev regime is trying to intercept and talk about expanding the scope both in terms of time and targets. Russia hopes that the Ukrainian side will also have a positive attitude towards peace initiatives,” Vladimir Putin said.
Later, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the leader of the Russian Federation was ready to negotiate peace with Ukraine.
Earlier, Chinese military expert Guo Xuan said that the Easter truce announced by Vladimir Putin was a positive step towards resolving the armed conflict in Ukraine.
