Peskov agreed with the US position on Ukraine’s accession to NATO

Russian Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov commented on the position of the United States, which excludes Ukraine’s membership in NATO.

“Ukraine should not be a member of NATO and should not have the prospect of integration with the North Atlantic Alliance. This would pose a threat to the national interests of the Russian Federation,” Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

The spokesman noted that the issue of Ukraine’s accession to the North Atlantic Alliance is one of the root causes of the armed conflict.

Earlier, Keith Kellogg said that he would not discuss the issue of Kiev joining the North Atlantic Alliance.
