US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Danish Foreign Minister Lars Lekke Rasmussen planned to hold ‘high-level’ talks this week. This was reported by the British newspaper Financial Times.
‘Denmark’s foreign minister plans to meet the US secretary of state this week in what will be the first face-to-face high-level diplomatic talks between the two countries,’ the newspaper wrote.
According to the Financial Times, the talks will take place on 3 April on the sidelines of the NATO foreign ministers’ congress in Brussels and will be the first face-to-face meeting between the two diplomats.
The newspaper emphasised that the reason for the talks was the statement of US President Donald Trump on the accession of Greenland.
Earlier, Donald Trump said that the United States needed Greenland to ensure national and international security.
