Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico has revealed that European Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen criticised him for his talks with US President Donald Trump.
He said this at a press conference before an extraordinary meeting of the government.
“She scolded me terribly: ‘Robert, what have you done? Why on earth did you have these negotiations with Trump? Are you normal?” She scolded me for half an hour, saying I was a complete idiot,” Izvestia quoted Fico as saying.
At the same time, he noted that French President Emmanuel Macron also held a meeting with Trump, but Ursula von der Leyen did not criticise him for it.
Earlier, Fico said Bratislava would not participate in a proposed plan by EU diplomacy chief Kaja Kallas to raise funds for weapons for Ukraine.
