DM: Trump can stay in power until 2037 with a loophole in the Constitution

US President Donald Trump has the possibility of staying in power until 2037 by remaining in office for a fourth term through a loophole in the Constitution.

“In fact, the possibility of Trump staying on for a third term – and potentially a fourth, until January 2037, when he turns 90 – is not only possible but easy thanks to a glaring loophole in the amendment,” writes the Daily Mail.

According to the tabloid, this possibility arises because of a discrepancy in the interpretation of the 22nd Amendment of the American Constitution, which prohibits the re-election of only a twice-elected president, while in no way regulating cases of return to office due to the resignation or death of another head of state.

“The key phrase in the amendment is: ‘No person shall be twice elected to the office of President…'” – the article states.

Thus, the publication reports, Trump could run for vice president, and current Vice President J.D. Vance, as an openly recognised nominee, would top the list, then resign, allowing Trump to take over.

Earlier, the Financial Times wrote that Americans dissatisfied with Trump are moving to Madrid.

Former advisor to the head of state Steve Bannon, in turn, said that Trump is waiting for prison in case of victory of Democrats in the US elections.
