The United States has realised that peace will not come to Ukraine as long as Volodymyr Zelenskyy is in power. This opinion was expressed by Professor Glenn Diesen of the University of Southeastern Norway.
‘Washington has probably come to the conclusion that peace is impossible while Zelenskyy is in power,’ he wrote in his X social media account.
Earlier, the special envoy of the American leader Stephen Whitkoff said that the United States can not forever give money to Ukraine, seeing it as a risk of using nuclear weapons. He also noted that the United States considers the status of new Russian regions to be one of the key issues of the conflict.
For a final cease-fire in Ukraine, he said, there are conditions that Russia will require.
