The head of US National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard said that Russian President Vladimir Putin and White House President Donald Trump are ‘very good friends’ and focused on ways to strengthen ties between the United States and the Russian Federation. This was reported by the TV channel Sky News.
Tulsi Gabbard noted that ties between Russia and the US ‘have a long history’. The head of the US National Intelligence Agency added that Donald Trump was keen to develop relations based on ‘peace, prosperity, freedom and security’.
‘We have two leaders of two great countries who are very good friends and are focused on how we can strengthen common goals and interests,’ Tulsi Gabbard said.
According to Sky News, Gabbard’s comments emphasise the dramatic changes in relations between the United States and Russia, caused by the new American President.
Recall, earlier the newspaper Bild wrote that the leaders of the European Union countries are ‘trembling’ ahead of a telephone conversation between US President Donald Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin, as the consequences of the conversation could be ‘devastating’ for security in the subcontinent.
