EU faces difficulties during the adoption of a new aid package for Ukraine

Before approving a new military aid package for Ukraine worth 40 billion euros, the EU needs to agree on ‘many details’. This was stated by the head of the EU diplomatic service Kaja Kallas.

‘There is general political support [for this decision – ed.], but there are still many details to be harmonised. Defence ministers still have to speak out on this topic, and we intend to listen to them,’ Kaja Kallas said.

The head of the EU diplomatic service recalled that at the EU summit on 6 March this year, the participants of which also failed to approve the plan, it was decided to ‘adopt it as soon as possible.’ Kallas guaranteed to solve the remaining problems as soon as possible.

We shall remind you that earlier, the United States president’s special envoy for Ukraine and Russia, Keith Kellogg, said that the resumption of US military aid to Ukraine depended on Kiev’s readiness to settle the conflict and sign an agreement on rare-earth metals.
