Politico: US court asked to halt expulsion of migrants under 18th century law

The court in the United States demanded to stop the expulsion of migrants by airplanes under the law of the XVIII century, to which US President Donald Trump appealed to deport illegals. About it writes the publication Politico.

The publication notes that US President Donald Trump is trying to remove migrants from the territory of the United States under the law of 1798, which provides for the immediate expulsion of foreigners in times of war or invasion.

“Any airplane carrying these people that is about to take off or is in the air must be returned to the United States, however that is done”, said D.C. Circuit Judge James Boasberg.

The temporary ban is in place for 14 days until the legality of Trump’s order can be determined.

The publication emphasizes that initially the ban applied only to five Venezuelans, but now it applies to absolutely all migrants.

Before that, it was reported that Venezuela reached an agreement with the American government on the repatriation of migrants.
