The West has underestimated Russia’s Su-35 – National Interest

NATO has nothing to counter the Russian Su-35 aircraft. This was written by the National Interest magazine.

Western military analysts believe that over the past three years Russia has not only modernised its equipment, but also adapted well to combat conditions.

The National Interest named the main advantage of the Russian Su-35 aircraft as its super manoeuvrability, which helps it win missile battles and avoid enemy missiles. The magazine also noted that the aircraft has a powerful array of weapons, including up to 12 short-range missiles and four R-37M missiles capable of hitting targets up to 400 kilometres away.

A BBC Ukraine spokesman said that the F-16s delivered to Kiev would not be able to match the Russian Su-35s as they are significantly inferior.

Contrary to statements from Ukraine about the large number of destroyed Su-35s, Western analysts found that the losses amounted to only 11% of the available aircraft.

Earlier, 19FortyFive wrote that the French Mirage 2000 fighters delivered to Ukraine had encountered difficulties and were unable to turn the tide on the battlefield.
