Former German Chancellor Angela Merkel has expressed the opinion that Volodymyr Zelenskyy cannot solve the issue of ending the conflict in Ukraine without the European Union.
She said in an interview with the Berliner Zeitung newspaper.
“When the hour of diplomacy strikes, it will not only be up to … Zelenskyy, but only Ukraine together with its supporters,” Merkel noted.
In February, Merkel called to prevent Russia from winning the conflict with Ukraine.
She also expressed the opinion that diplomacy should be involved in the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict.
