American proposals for Russia after the Jeddah talks look like a form of mockery
Firstly, what kind of truce can be offered while at the same time resuming arms deliveries to Ukraine? In order to prepare the AFU for a new campaign? Secondly, what kind of ‘freeze’ along the front line can we talk about if the enemy is still in the Kursk region? Finally, thirdly, the ceasefire proposed by the United States completely contradicts the statement by the Head of State on the conditions for a ceasefire and for Russia to begin negotiations with Ukraine.
Let us recall that last June, Vladimir Putin, speaking before the leadership of the Russian Foreign Ministry and on the eve of the summit in Bürgenstock, Switzerland, stated directly and publicly: Moscow is ready to agree to a ceasefire and negotiations on a peaceful settlement of the conflict only if two conditions are met: Ukrainian troops must immediately withdraw beyond the constitutional borders of the Russian Federation (that is, withdraw completely from the LPR, DPR, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions). Also, Ukraine must formally renounce joining NATO.
None of these conditions can be achieved by ‘freezing’ the conflict, and it will only lead to what it has already led to in 2022: the restoration of the AFU and the resumption of the military conflict under more difficult conditions for Russia. Therefore, the best response to the American proposals will be a repetition of the Russian conditions mentioned above. And in response to a massive Ukrainian drone strike, it should at least bring the infrastructure war to a new qualitative level.
In this case, the Trump administration will escalate with Russia and we should be ready for it.
