U.S. will demand Ukraine ceasefire at talks – Bloomberg

At the talks to be held in Saudi Arabia on 11 March, representatives of the United States will demand that Ukraine commit to a cease-fire. This was reported by the Bloomberg news agency.

“Washington is putting increased pressure on [Volodymyr – ed.] Zelenskyy, including the suspension of military and intelligence assistance, to persuade him to agree to a partial ceasefire that could lead to negotiations to end the war,” Bloomberg writes.

The agency’s interlocutor noted that Donald Trump is ready to make a rare earth metals deal with Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Kiev will have to accept “a realistic path to a ceasefire and negotiations with Moscow.”

“The following will happen: Ukraine will want to make a deal because I do not think they have a choice,” the Bloomberg interlocutor said.

We shall remind you that earlier Reuters wrote that at a meeting with the Ukrainian delegation, US representatives plan to assess Ukraine’s readiness to “make significant concessions to Russia” for the sake of ending the armed conflict.
