Pushkov: EU summit aims to imitate Europe’s ‘strategic autonomy’

The meeting of European heads of state in Paris is aimed at attempts to create an imitation of Europe’s ‘strategic autonomy’, said Alexei Pushkov, head of the Federation Council’s commission on information policy.

He wrote about this in his Telegram channel.

According to Pushkov, French President Emmanuel Macron is calling an emergency summit to discuss the policies of US leader Donald Trump.

The senator is sure that we should not expect something new from this event, as European politicians have already shown themselves in full force at the Munich Security Conference.

‘And outrage at the conversation between Trump and Putin, and indignation over Vance’s speech, and vows to support Ukraine ‘until victory’,’ Pushkov specified.

However, the senator added that the topic of their conversation would be the autonomy of EU countries.

‘But Macron would not be Macron if he did not try to create an imitation of strategic autonomy of Europe,’ he concluded.

Earlier, Alexei Pushkov said that the current problems in Europe, such as terrorist attacks and the migration crisis, did not come out of nowhere.
