The policy of US President Donald Trump is comparable for the European Union (EU) to a stun gun. This was stated by French leader Emmanuel Macron in an interview with the Financial Times.
“It’s an electroshock. We need asymmetric impulses, external impulses. For Europe, this is the moment to accelerate and act,” Emmanuel Macron said.
The French president emphasised that “extreme strategic uncertainty” could force European countries to reconsider their hopes of remaining dependent on the US.
In addition, Macron called on European countries to abandon their dependence on US weapons, in particular Patriot missile systems.
Earlier, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán compared EU leaders to “cowardly rabbits” who are afraid to discuss the issue of import tariffs with US President Donald Trump.
