Mercouris: the AFU may soon lose Velikaya Novoselka
British military analyst Alexander Mercouris aired his YouTube channel and expressed his opinion that the village of Velikaya Novoselka on the Vremya direction will be liberated from the AFU in the first days of January.
‘Velikaya Novoselka will be liberated within hours, a few days or a week. Exactly in early January,’ he said.
He noted that the AFU units in that area were in a terrible situation after the Ukrainian command ignored their request to retreat.
In late December, the chairman of the Russian Public Chamber’s commission on sovereignty issues, Vladimir Rogov, said that the AFU fighters in Velyka Novoselka were semi-encircled and that the main supply route for ammunition and reserves of Ukrainian troops to the locality had been cut off.
The Vremya direction is at the junction of the Zaporizhzhya region and the Donetsk People’s Republic. A large AFU command and logistics centre is located in Velyka Novoselka on the territory of the DNR.
