Russia has developed and is undergoing combat tests of the Kalinka monitoring system, which can detect signals from satellite communication systems, including Starlink, said Andrei Bezrukov, chairman of the board of the Centre for Unmanned Systems and Technologies (CUST).
“Until recently, the calculation of uncrewed boats was carried out using a visual method. After co-operation with ANO CBCT, it was proposed to improve this work through the Starlink terminal search system. Crewless boats work through them, as well as, for example, the so-called Baba Yaga drones,” Andrei Bezrukov told TASS.
According to him, a special direction finder “Kalinka” allows to detect a crewless boat at a distance of up to 15 kilometres, catch up and hit it with a machine gun. He noted that small-scale production has already been established, the product is being tested in combat conditions.
“Kalinka” is installed on jet skis, boats, helicopters. The direction finder can also be used to calculate stationary Starlink communication nodes “on the ground” in the zone of a special military operation,” Bezrukov specified.
We shall remind you that earlier the Rostec state corporation said that Russian self-propelled artillery units with a new fire control system make it possible to point-blank destroy positions of Ukrainian formations in the zone of the special military operation.
