Another arrival of American journalist Tucker Carlson in Moscow is an open diplomacy conducted by the team of the future US President Donald Trump, is convinced political scientist Americanist Malek Dudakov.

Dudakov noted that Carlson has strong ties with Trump’s team, which opposes Washington’s hawks and promotes the resolution of the conflict situation in Ukraine.
‘Carlson could act as an unofficial emissary of Trump and bring to Moscow negotiating terms on Ukraine prepared by the US leader’s team. As part of the interview [with Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov], the Russian side voiced its conditions. In the future, harmonisation and an attempt to reach some kind of compromise will begin,’ the Americanist notes.
The influence of this journalist in the US is quite large, he emphasised. Carlson’s visit to Moscow will help the Trump team strengthen its position through a form of open diplomacy, as well as convey Russia’s position to tens of millions of Americans, the interlocutor added.
