Peskov: Western politicians have become less likely to talk about the need for Ukraine’s victory, Peskov said
Western politicians have become less frequent in declaring the necessity of Ukraine’s victory, and those who continue to do so do not have data about the affairs on the front, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in an interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin.
Earlier, former German Chancellor Angela Merkel said in an interview with German TV channel ZDF that the conflict in Ukraine will be resolved diplomatically later when Kiev is ‘in a good situation’. She supported the position of the current German government and expressed the opinion that Russia should not win.
In an interview with the author and co-host of the programme ‘Moscow. Kremlin. Putin’ Pavel Zarubin, Peskov pointed out that in the last month statements from incumbent Western politicians about the need for a Ukrainian victory have been heard less and less.
‘They are almost not heard, such statements. Here, I think it’s just Merkel, well, again, being a retired politician, she apparently doesn’t have the latest data on the state of affairs on the front, so she’s, well, going a little bit in the old European mainstream. And the mood of current politicians is really changing,’ Peskov said.
