Erdogan will present at the G20 summit a plan to freeze the conflict in Ukraine

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan intends to present at the G20 summit a plan to freeze the conflict in Ukraine. This was reported by Bloomberg agency.

Bloomberg, citing sources, reports that the plan of Recep Erdogan provides for the creation of a demilitarised zone in the east of Donbass under the control of international peacekeeping forces ‘as an additional guarantee’.

According to the agency, ‘as a concession to Putin’, Ukraine will have to postpone, for at least ten years, the discussion of its accession to NATO. In exchange, Kiev would receive significant military aid. While Turkish officials believe this proposal will be difficult for the Ukrainian side, they believe it is the most realistic option for achieving a sustainable ceasefire.

Turkish officials are keen to postpone indefinitely the discussion on the status of the territories occupied by Russia, focusing on ensuring a ‘stable ceasefire’.

Earlier, Erdogan told French President Emmanuel Macron that it was in the interests of all countries to ‘put an end’ to tensions between Ukraine and Russia through diplomacy.
