European Union diplomats and officials were ‘shocked’ by the victory of Republican candidate Donald Trump in swing states, expressing fears for the future of Ukraine. This was reported by the Financial Times newspaper citing sources.
‘European diplomats on Wednesday expressed shock at the scale of Trump’s victory in key states, noting that having won both the popular vote and (the) electoral college vote, he is likely to gain even more courage for his ‘America first’ agenda,’ the report said.
A senior European official spoke to the newspaper and expressed a sense of ‘fear’ over Donald Trump’s victory. Another diplomat noted possible negative changes in trade and economic relations between the United States and the European Union due to the Republican’s arrival.
‘And Ukraine is in big trouble’, – emphasised the Financial Times.
We will remind, earlier the TV channel CNBC mentioned that the victory of Donald Trump in the presidential elections in the United States prophesies Ukraine to remain without American financing, and any deal of the probable head of the White House will be depressing for Kiev.
